A renowned legal ranking publication, Super Lawyers® curates both the Super Lawyers® list and the Rising Stars list on an annual basis. To be recognized in either list, attorneys must go through a patented multiphase selection process, which comprises third-party nomination by a peer or the Super Lawyers® research team, an independent review of “12 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement,” then a secondary review conducted by a Blue Ribbon Panel of accomplished attorneys.
The only real difference between the two lists is that Rising Stars is reserved for attorneys in the first 10 years of practice or no older than 40 years old. Both lists are very selective: Rising Stars recognizes no more than 2.5% of all U.S. attorneys, and Super Lawyers® recognizes no more than 5%.
