Roundup Lawsuits
70+ Years of Experience in Fort Lauderdale & Beyond
The world’s most popular weed killer, Roundup, has been linked to several cases of aggressive blood cancer – including a particularly deadly variant known as non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. As of February 2020, at least 42,700 plaintiffs have filed lawsuits against Monsanto, the creator of Roundup, for creating and selling such a dangerous product.
Although most of the individuals filing lawsuits are gardeners, farmers, and landscapers, some recreational Roundup users are also filing claims, stating they developed cancer after using the weed killer in their home gardens. While Monsanto spent years maintaining that their product was safe to use, several recent studies have linked the weed killer’s main ingredient to the development of certain blood cancers.
Because Monsanto was acquired by Bayer AG in 2018 for $63 billion, Bayer is currently facing a lengthy appeals process over Roundup cases. As of early 2020, sources report that the company is considering a massive multi-billion dollar settlement to resolve all the defective product claims – but the company has continued to deny their role in causing cancer injuries.

About Roundup Weed Killer
Roundup weed killer was first developed in the 1970s, and has since taken over as the most used weed killer worldwide. For many years, this weed killer was used in home gardens, parks, professional landscapes, food crops, and more. However, once individuals who came into frequent contact with the product began developing blood cancers, people began to question the safety of the popular herbicide.
Several studies have since analyzed the properties of glyphosate, the main ingredient, but reports came back reporting potential foul play and skewed lab reports. However, in 2015, an agency of the World Health Organization came back with the final results, declaring glyphosate a probable carcinogen (that is, a likely cancer-causing material).
Ever since glyphosate was declared a probable carcinogen, thousands of plaintiffs have come forward to file lawsuits against Monsanto. The company has lost three major cases to date, and in May 2019, a jury in Oakland awarded $2 billion in punitive damages to a couple that developed non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma after using Roundup for 30 years.
