As the e-cigarette injury claims against Juul Labs have continued to mount over the last year, much of this complex litigation has been consolidated into a massive national multidistrict litigation or MDL, to ensure that all the cases against Juul Labs can be efficiently prosecuted. On December 20, 2019, District Judge William H. Orrick of the U.S. District Court of Northern California appointed several attorneys leadership positions on the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee – including our attorney Jonathan Gdanski.
According to the documents filed with the court, Judge Orrick received applications and proposals from over 50 highly-qualified attorneys across the country. From personal injury to addiction cases to consumer class actions, there are many different types of cases involved in the MDL. Mr. Gdanski’s long track record of success fighting both tobacco and e-cigarette claims on behalf of plaintiffs makes him a great fit to join the PSC for this high-level litigation.
