Fighting for Full & Fair Compensation

What Fisher-Price Products Are Recalled?

After receiving several reports of infant deaths caused by the Fisher-Price Rock ‘n Play Sleeper, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission issued an official recall on April 12, 2019. The Rock ‘n Play is an exceedingly popular baby product celebrated for its ability to sooth sleepy babies as they sleep.

There are an estimated 4.7 million products affected by this recall, which includes all models of the Rock ‘n Play Sleeper. Fisher-Price also issued a statement about the issue informing consumers that they will offer refunds or product vouchers for those who purchased the faulty product. However, these vouchers will do little to comfort the parents who lost children to this dangerous product.

If you or a loved one are affected by this dangerous inclined sleeper product, our firm is prepared to help you seek justice and compensation. Baby products must follow strict safety standards, and if the design or build of any children’s product renders that item hazardous, it could lead to deadly consequences for infants.

As a parent, you have every right to pursue a case against the manufacturers of a defective product, and the danger posed to infacts in the Fisher-Price Rock N’ Play Sleeper is unacceptible. We are a firm of compassionate and dedicated legal professionsals. Our Schlessinger Law Offices team will work tirelessly to help you receive full & fair compensation.

Why Was The Fisher-Price Rock ‘n Play Sleeper Recalled?

According to reports, infants can suffocate within the Rock ‘n Play Sleeper by rolling onto their sides or stomachs, especially if they remain unrestrained by the safety belt. Although Fisher-Price claims their product is safe when used correctly, this may not be true.

The product instructions direct parents to buckle their children into the seat whenever the product is in use and to discontinue use altogether when the child reaches a certain age or weight. However, even if parents heed the safety warnings, the product could still pose a serious threat. Before the company issued a recall, the American Academy of Pediatrics originally asked Fisher-Price to recall their Rock ‘n Play products, calling them “deadly.”

More than 30 infants have died while using the Rock ‘n Play Sleepers, some of which were less than 3 months old. The way this inclined leeper is designed, it is possible that a baby can roll into an unsafe posision and suffocate. Although this product is now recalled, the American Academy of Pediatrics now questions the safety of all inclined sleepers designed similarly to the Rock ‘n Play.
