Victor Van Dyke

Victor Van Dyke is a trial lawyer at Schlesinger Law Offices, P.A. in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. His practice is dedicated to helping injury victims in a wide variety of cases, including product liability, civil rights, mass torts, and catastrophic personal injury. Over his career, Victor has tried more than a dozen cases to verdict, and has handled appeals at every level of the federal judiciary, including before the United States Supreme Court.

Victor believes strongly in giving back to his community and helping those in need. Before joining the firm, Victor served as an Assistant Federal Public Defender in Miami, Florida, where he handled federal criminal cases from arraignment through final judgment. In that role, he handled some of the most complicated criminal cases in the state, including multiple month-long trials. In addition to his years of public service as a federal public defender, Victor served as a law clerk to the Honorable Roy K. Altman, on the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, and to the Honorable Barbara Lagoa, on the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Before law school, Victor worked as a manager of a non-profit organization called Access Justice, PSC, which provided free or nearly-free legal services to indigent clients in the midwest. And he worked as a private investigator, tracking down and interviewing witnesses, for the Innocence Project of Minnesota, which fought to exonerate the wrongfully imprisoned.

Earlier in his career, Victor worked for Williams & Connolly LLP in Washington D.C., one of the top-ranked litigation boutiques in the country. He graduated from the Georgetown University Law Center with honors and earned a bachelor’s in philosophy from the University of Minnesota. He is admitted to practice in Washington D.C. and his practice is supervised by attorneys at the firm.

Victor has devoted his career to standing up for people that might otherwise be overlooked, and is dedicated to pursuing justice for those harmed by corporate misconduct or the wrongdoing of others.
